THE WAY OF VICTORY

TEXT - I JOHN 5.1 - 13

5.1  Whosoever believeth that 

Jesus is the Christ is

born of God: 

and every one that 

loveth him that begat 

loveth him also

that is begotten.

5.2  By this we know 

that we love the 

children of God when

we love God 

and keep 

His commandments.

5.3  For this is the 

love of God, 

that we keep His 

commandments, 

and His commandments

are not grievous. 

5.4  For whosoever is 

born of God overcometh

the world: 

and this is the 

victory 

that overcometh 

the world, 

even our faith.

5.5   Who is he that 

overcometh the world.

but he that believeth

the Jesus 

is the Son of God.

5.6  This is he that came

by water, and blood,

even Jesus Christ;

not by water only,

but by water and blood.

And it is the Spirit 

that beareth witness,

because the Spirit is 

truth.

5.7 For there are three

that bear record 

in heaven, 

The Father,

The Word,

and the Holy Ghost, 

and these 

three 

are 

one. 

5.8   And there are 

three that bear witness

in earth, 

the Spirt, 

and the water,

and the blood: 

and these three 

agree

in one.  

5.9  If we receive 

the witness of men, 

the witness of God 

is greater: 

for this is the 

witness of God 

which He hath 

testified 

of His Son. 

5.10 He that believeth 

on the Son of God 

hath the witness in himself:

he that believeth not God

hath made him a liar;

because he believeth not 

the record 

that God gave of his Son.

5.11  And this is 

the record 

that God hath given us 

eternal life,

and this life is in His Son.

5.12  He that hath the Son

hath life, 

and he that hath not 

the Son of God 

hath not life.

5.13 These things 

have I written unto you

that believe on the name 

of the Son of God; that

ye may know 

that 

ye have eternal life, 

and that ye might 

believe 

on the name of the 

Son of God. 

Many professing Christians 

are indeed unstable and uncertain

in their walk.   Some seek for 

something beside "just believing" 

in Christ.

Seeking to be better 

or to find stability

they forget 

the 

simplicity 

of the Gospel.

Here John tells us that  

physical birth 

of Jesus here 

on earth

who came by

 Promise to Abraham, 

to the Sons of Abraham,

lived here on 

earth among men, 

as a PERFECT SINLESS MAN

"the Son of man" 

as he called Himself.

Again, he 

claimed to have 

and be 

the SOURCE OF LIFE.

John 14.6  

I am the Way 

the Truth, and 

the Life,

No man cometh 

unto the Father, 

but by me." 

Again John earlier

spoke in the book

of John that 

John 1.1 - 4 

In the beginning was the 

Word,

and the Word was with God

and the 

Word 

was God. 

The same was 

in the beginning 

with God.

All things were made

by him

and without him

was not 

anything made

that was made.

In him was life,.

and the life

was the light 

of men.

Let us consider: 

Our Faith is the victory

that overcomes the world.

We are to follow 

in the steps 

of our Savior. 

He alone is our example

if we are to

live in victory.

Matthew 6.24 

No man can serve 

two masters; 

for he will either 

hate the one, 

and love the other; 

or else he will hold 

to one, 

and despise the other.

Matthew 6.33

Seek ye first 

the kingdom of God,

and his righteousness,

and all these 

things 

shall be 

added unto you.

 

I Corinthians 15. 3 - 4

For I delivere unto you 

first of all 

that which I also received,

how that Christ died 

for our sins 

according to the 

scriptures; 

and that he was 

buried, 

and that he rose again

the third day 

according to the 

scriptures.

Next, let us consider: 

HIS PROMISE TO RETURN

John 14.1 - 3 

Let not your heart be 

troubled. Ye believe in God,

believe also in me;

in my Father's house 

are many mansions; 

if it were not so, 

I would have told you.

I go to prepare a 

place for you;

and if I go 

and prepare a place 

for you, 

I WILL COME AGAIN, 

that where I am,

there ye may be 

also.   

Jesus arose

His disciples all

served Him faithfully

believing 

He was coming 

back for them

and 

that they were 

to go 

and 

tell 

others 

JESUS IS LORD  

We have eternal life in Him.

This book was written 

so that we might know 

Jesus as our Savior 

and that 

we might have LIFE 

ETERNAL

He promised to come 

take us home to be 

with Him

We are to watch and 

be ready. 

Christ is going to 

come 

any time 

soon 

and it will 

be 

just for 

those 

who 

know Him.

IN TRAVELING ON THE ROAD OF LIFE 

WE NEED TO KNOW WHERE WE ARE GOING 

                          MATTHEW 6.33 

                 SEEK YE FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD 

                              AND ALL THESE THINGS

                                               SHALL BE ADDED UNTO YOU 

                            

                         In the book of Joel, is the call to repentance.
                  In speaking of the coming conflict in the end times, 
                 Scripture declares in Joel chapter 2.11 - 13  The day of the LORD is great and very terrible, and who can abide it?  Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: and rend your hearts, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful; slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil." 

                   Jesus when he left Nazareth, and came and dwelt in Capernaum, which upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zebulun and Nephthalim, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the Prophet, the Land of Zebulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles; the people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up. From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent, for Kingdom of Heaven is at hand."  
                 

                         

                        He later declared :  Ask and it shall be given you, Seek and ye shall find, Knock and it shall be opened unto you, for everyone that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened."   Matthew 7. 7,8

                        As a light bulb has to be placed in the socket 
                       to work, so too, our lives need to be turned 
                       around 180 degrees so that instead heading 
                      in the path of darkness, the way of destruction,
                     and the uncertainty of knowing what lies ahead
                     a person veers around and heads to the LIGHT 
                      SHINING.

                       

                       Traveling in the Yakima WA area, this photo
                       is one of many I took in our travels there 
                       which show the circles where the TEEPEES
                      of the Yakima Indians still remain to this day.
                       Much of the area is still just as barren as 
                        in the days of the Indians.    
          
                       One has to search to find the circles - but they 
                        are there.   In the midst of the TEEPEES, paths
                       of rocks were laid out so that children would 
                        learn not to stray away from the village.  Also
                       the grass does not grow where the tents sat.
                        I have heard it said, that as the Indians migrated,
                      they would look for the circles, and place their 
                      TEEPEES on the very same places.   

                       Here Jesus is saying 
               "Repent, for the Kingdom is at hand...and the people came to listen and to watch.   In verse 23, 24 of chapter 4 of Matthew it tells us "And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of disease among the people. And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick and those that had the palsy; and he healed them. And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judea, and from beyond Jordan."

                    In every way, Jesus was showing Who He was.
                  In the book of John, chapter 1 verses 1 - 4 we 
                    find these words:  

             In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was

               with God and the Word was God.  The same was

             in the beginning with God.   All things were made

              by him, and without him was not anything that was

               made.  In him was life, and the life was the light 

             of men.    And the light shineth in the darkness, 

              and the darkness comprehended it not.   

                      WHEN LIGHT SHINES, DARKNESS FLEES.
                     Jesus was the Light.   He said of himself in 
                       John  8.12   I AM THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD.
                       HE THAT FOLLOWETH ME SHALL NOT WALK
                     IN DARKNESS, BUT SHALL HAVE THE LIGHT
                    OF LIFE.

Here in Surprise Valley, Henry and I traveled

down an old road which went zig zag down

the mountains and we had to go very slow.

.

                          The Ministry of Jesus continued,
                            and it finally came true what he 
                            said.   Like the mountains we came
                            down, it was a difficult time for 
                            the disciples whom he called Apostles.
                            He was the King, calling His Apostles.
                            He was the Light, healing, 
                             teaching, calling to repentance. 

                     When Jesus told the disciples that he was going 
                      to be betrayed, to suffer, and die, he was careful
                     to tell them he was going to rise from the dead 
                       on the third day.      

                      He made it very plain from the very start 
                      for in John chapter 3 Jesus told Nicodemus 
                      that as Moses lifted up the serpent in the 
                    wilderness, so too the Son of man would be 
                       be lifted up.    

                        It is not certain to me all that happened,
                       I only know that Jesus came into my life as 
                        a child of 10 1/2 years old when someone 
                       came into my 5th Grade class and the teacher
                       told us that a gentleman would give us a 
                        New Testament of the Bible if we wanted one.

                       I remember how I was so happy to receive 
                      my copy.   It was a big day for me.    On the 
                      inside cover, was written the reference for 
                       2 Timothy 2 verse 15.    So I looked it up.
                        It said,   STUDY TO SHEW THYSELF 
                        APPROVED UNTO GOD, A WORKMAN 
                       THAT NEEDETH NOT TO BE ASHAMED,
                        RIGHTLY DIVIDING THE WORD OF 
                       TRUTH."    
                                 I do not remember what date it was, 
                         but I know it made my life so different. For 
                       you see, I started looking at the scripture in it,
                       and found John 3.16 and yes ! I put my name 
                        in it -  who so ever meaneth me -  the song says, 
                       and yes ! I knew Jesus had come to die in my 
                      place, taking my sins upon himself, and was 
                       buried, and rose again the third day .

                             Risen from the dead, Jesus showed himself 
                      to the disciples, even when they were behind 
                    closed doors.    PEACE BE UNTO YOU. John 20.19

                             When I asked Jesus to be my Savior,
                       the Holy Spirit sent from the Father to give 
                      me New Life became mine.     The Lord Jesus 
                      is the ONLY ONE by whom The Father will 
                      accept - for He sent the Son to show us He loved
                      us and wanted us to live with Him forever in 
                       His Heavenly Kingdom.

                             

Here I was in back of my brother Harry (Skipper)

and my little sister Diane. I  was such a big 

girl I thought.   It was not until I was in 5th 

grade that I learned about Jesus, and who He was.

How glad I am someone told me.

I am telling you now,

that you too can have L I G H T 

in your life.

You too can have PEACE

LOVE

JOY

COMFORT

ASSURANCE

and

DIRECTION

knowing this.

All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

Romans 3.23

For the wages of sin is death, but the 

gift of God is eternal life through 

Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 6.23 

Jesus said to Thomas, "Thomas, because 

thou hast seen me, thou has believed; 

blessed are they that have not seen,

and yet have believed."

John 20.29 

When I was five years old 

this was me.   I had red hair, 

and a new outfit Grandmother made me.

Mother had said, When you grow up,

I want you to tell me who God is, and 

I will believe too.   You know, that 

made me very hungry to know

that I had a J O B to do...

God knew who I was.

I did not know who HE was.

So HE found a way 

to show me.

Will you let him in ? 

He is knocking on the door of your heart.

You will never regret 

trusting the One who 

said,

I AM THE WAY

THE TRUTH 

AND THE LIFE

NO MAN 

COMETH UNTO THE FATHER

BUT BY ME.
