RESURRECTION - JESUS IS RISEN AS HE SAID
Matthew 28.1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began
to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary
Magdalene and the other Mary to see he sepulchre.
Matthew 28.2 And, behold, thee was a great earth-
quake: for the angel of the Lord descended from
heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from
the door, and sat upon it.
Matthew 28.3 His countenance was like lightning,
and his raiment white as snow:
Matthew 28.4 And for fear of him the keepers
did shake, and became as dead men.
Matthew 28.5 And the angel answered, and said
unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye
seek Jesus, which was crucified.
Matthew 28. 6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he
said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
Matthew 28.7 And go quickly, and tell his disciples
that He is risen from the dead; and, behold, he
goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see
him: I have told you.
Matthew 28.8 And they departed quickly from
the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did
run to bring his disciples word.
Matthew 28.9 And as they went to tell His disciples,
behold, Jesus met them, saying, All Hail. and they
came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.
Matthew 28.10 Then said Jesus unto them, saying,
Be not afraid; go tell my brethren that they go into
Galilee. and there they shall see me.
The last three days had been so heavy, so sad,
and they missed Jesus so much. They kept thinking
has this really happened. Yes, it really happened.
Over and over in their minds and in their hearts
the events of the last week they went over and
over.
These ladies came to the tomb expecting to
have to find a way in.
The earthquake took care of that, and
the Angel came and sat on the very stone
that had held the door closed.
The guards became "as dead" ones - they
were in a state of somber fright.
The ladies looked and the angel spoke to
them. What news ! ? ?
It does not say whether they looked to see
if he was not really there - they believed
the angel and started running to give the
news the blessed news that JESUS HAS
RISEN AS HE SAID.
As they are running the Lord Himself showed
himself to them. It must have been so
grand ! They clung to his feet, and
yes, worshipped Him.
The word in the Greek for "worshipped"
is to bow - to prostrate oneself at the feet
of the One being worshipped.
When Jesus was calling men "repent ye, for
the Kingdom of heaven is at hand" he healed
many people. They "worshipped" him.
There are some who say, Jesus never
claimed to be God, but I beg to differ.
Scripture tells us again and again, that
the very reason and the only reason
He died on the Cross was that He
Declared Himself to be the Very Son of
God. It may interest you to know that
legally the trials of Jesus were unjust
because it was illegal most of all
in the Law of Moses, and in tradition,
that one could not be tried for His own
word, it had to be two witnesses that
agreed.
So you see, when the High Priest
asked, (Matthew 27.63 I adjure you
by the living God, that thou tell us
whether thou be the Christ, the Son
of God."
(Matthew 27.64) Jesus saith unto him,
Thou hast said; nevertheless I say unto
you, Hereafter ye shall see the Son
of man sitting on the right hand of
power, coming in the clouds of
heaven."
The Risen Savior took the sins of all
mankind upon Himself when He
willingly went to the Cross.
In John the 3rd Chapter Jesus told
a ruler named Nicodemus that was exa tly
why He came into the world.
John chapter 3.
verse 11. Verily, Verily, I say unto thee,
we know that we do know, and testify
that we have seen, and ye receive not
my witness.
verse 12. If I have told you earthly things,
and ye believe not, how shall ye believe,
if I tell you of heavenly things?
verse 13. And no man hath ascended up
to heaven, but he that came down from
heaven, even the Son of man which is in
heaven.
verse 14. And as Moses lifted up the
serpent in the wilderness, even so must the
Son of man be lifted up.
verse 15. That whosoever believeth in
him should not perish, but have
everlasting life.
verse 16. FOR GOD SO LOVED THE
WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY
BEGOTTEN SON, THAT WHOSOEVER
BELIEVETH IN HIM SHOULD NOT
PERISH, BUT HAVE EVERLASTING
LIFE.
verse 17. For God sent not His son into
the world to condemn the world, but
that the world through him might be
saved.
verse 18. He that believeth on him is
not condemned; but he that believeth
not is condemned already, because
he hath not believe in the name of
the only begotten Son of God.
Only the Risen Christ can change
a life - for only in the
shed blood of Jesus the Pure
and Sinless Son of God could
bear the sin of all that we
might come to God the Father
through His Name, and it is
told us that we are to go and tell
GOD'S LOVE FOR YOU.
To find God's Love is to find Hope.
The LORD HIMSELF is the same
yesterday, today, and forever.
Hebrews 13.8
Jesus Christ the Same Yesterday
Today and Forever.
